Step-by-step Guide:
Story Protocol’s public testnet, Iliad, is now live. Although there’s no official airdrop announcement, there are hints of upcoming rewards for active participants.
1: Join the Public Testnet
Connect your Metamask Wallet at Story.Foundation. Complete the required social media tasks in Step 1 and Step 2, Step 3 is optional.
2: Get Testnet Tokens
Click “Get tokens,” enter your EVM address, and add the Iliad testnet to your MetaMask wallet.
3: Mint Your IP Asset
Note that due to high congestion, transactions may fail. If your transaction is queued, just let it be.
Handling Transaction Failures
If your transaction fails due to congestion, don’t worry. This is common on the first day. If issues persist by tomorrow (August 29), we may need to wait for any deadline extensions from the Story Protocol team.
Additional Opportunities
Story Protocol has an NFT collection on OpenSea. Some speculate owning one might provide an edge, but only invest if it’s within your budget. The floor price at the time of this writing is about 0.07 ETH (around $120).
